Prevent Breakdowns Before They Happen

The cheapest repair is the one you never have to make. Regular maintenance — factory-scheduled 30k, 60k, and 90k mile services — catches wear on belts, hoses, filters, and fluids before those parts fail on your drive to work. At our New Britain shop, we follow the schedule your manufacturer wrote, not an inflated “shop schedule” designed to sell services.

What Factory-Scheduled Maintenance Covers

Every 30,000 miles or so, most vehicles need a specific set of preventative work. It might include:

  • Engine air filter and cabin air filter replacement
  • Fuel filter replacement (on vehicles with a service interval)
  • Coolant flush and refill
  • Transmission fluid service (or full flush)
  • Power steering and brake fluid service
  • Spark plug replacement (typical intervals 60k–100k miles)
  • Serpentine belt and hose inspection
  • Full multi-point Performance Review

We look up your exact vehicle’s schedule — make, model, year, mileage — and quote only what’s actually due. No pressure to add “recommended” services that aren’t in the manual.

Pre-Purchase Inspections

Thinking of buying a used car? Bring it to us first. We put it on a lift, scan for hidden trouble codes (some sellers reset the check-engine light before showing), check the frame and undercarriage for damage or heavy rust, verify fluid conditions, and inspect all safety systems. You leave with a written report and the peace of mind to buy — or the ammunition to walk away.

Free Multi-Point Performance Review

Every maintenance visit at our New Britain shop includes a free Performance Review — a multi-point inspection that flags tire wear, brake pad thickness, fluid levels, battery health, and belt/hose condition. It’s how we’ve built a 30-year reputation for honest service: we catch small issues while they’re still cheap to fix.

FAQ

Maintenance FAQs

What's included in a 60,000-mile service?

expand_more
Typically: transmission fluid service, coolant flush, spark plug replacement, engine air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter (some vehicles), inspection of belts and hoses, and the multi-point Performance Review. Exact contents vary by make and model — we follow your manufacturer's schedule.

Do I really need to follow the maintenance schedule?

expand_more
Yes. Skipping scheduled maintenance leads to expensive failures: fried transmissions from old fluid, seized engines from old coolant, misfires from old plugs. The schedule exists because manufacturers know when parts wear out. Following it costs less than fixing what breaks when you don't.

Can you inspect a used car before I buy it?

expand_more
Yes — pre-purchase inspections are a smart move. We put the car on a lift, check the engine and transmission, scan for hidden codes, inspect suspension and brakes, and give you a written report so you buy with your eyes open.

Do you use OEM or aftermarket parts?

expand_more
Both, depending on what makes sense. For some parts (like spark plugs and filters), OEM or OEM-equivalent is the smart pick. For others, quality aftermarket saves you money without compromising reliability. We tell you honestly which is which.

How often should I get a tune-up?

expand_more
Modern cars don't need a 'tune-up' in the old sense as often — spark plugs often go 100,000 miles. But scheduled maintenance (fluid changes, filters, belt/hose inspection) at 30k, 60k, and 90k mile marks is essential. We handle all of it.
